Scuba Diving (all equipment furnished!)
Our scuba diving tours explores several spectacular sites around the Caño Island Biological Reserve. Twelve miles west of the Drake Bay Wilderness Resort, Caño Island offers some of the most exciting diving in the world. Besides its amazing marine life, the island is also well known for its archeological history. Caño Island was formerly a cemetery or burial ground dating back to the pre-Columbian era and posses a rich legacy of archaeological resources, including the mysteries perfect Pre-Columbian Stone Balls.
A spectacular variety of marine flora and fauna, as well as gorgeous coral reefs, live beneath the warm waters of Caño Island. Some of the marine life found at the island include turtles, dolphins, stingrays, manta rays, moray eels, barracudas, tuna, snapper, sharks, humpback or pilot whales, and much more.

THE CAVE OF THE SHARKS
Depth 40 TO 50 ft. AV. VISIBILITY 50 ft.
This area consists of a series of intricate rock and coral formations that contain many caves. The site takes its name from an enormous cave that is home to many white tip reef sharks, some of which are up to 11 ft. long. Other inhabitants include angel fish, butterfly damsels and parrot fish. Additionally, Moorish idols, puffers, sturgeons, manta rays, and stingrays also frequent this site.
THE ARC
Depth 40 TO 50 ft. AV. VISIBILITY 50 ft.
Unique rock formations formed in the shape of arches allow divers to pass through them at this breathtaking site. This dive site is approximately two thirds of a mile from the previously mentioned Cave of the Sharks. Due to its close proximity to the Cave, much of the marine fauna is the same, with the addition of flounders and lobsters.
BAJO DEL DIABLO (DEVIL'S ROCK)
Depth 100+ ft. AV. VISIBILITY 60 ft.
Without a doubt, this is the best site in the area and possibly one of the best in the world. The dives here are always full of grandeur and astonishment. With submerged mountains and valley formations, an incredible number of species are found here. For instance, groupers, snappers, amber jacks, barracudas, mobula rays, morays, puffers, moorish idol, cubera snappers, bull sharks and many white tip sharks are observed. During the summer months (February, March and April) manta rays also come to visit this dive site. The biological intensity of this location can be understood only when you experience it for yourself. This is the dive spot where all recreational divers experience the true wonders of diving.
CORAL GARDENS
Depth 20 TO 50 ft. AV. VISIBILITY 80 ft.
This is an ideal site to practice routine procedures or initiate into the world of diving. With coral formations, tranquil waters and a great variety of reef fish, this site is excellent for the novice diver.
DEPTH TWO DEPTH
Depth 70 ft. AV. VISIBILITY 60 ft.
Located approximately 2 miles from CaCaño Island, this site is a rocky formation located in the open seas. The diving here is unpredictable and an advanced site. Large schools of big groupers, snappers, tuna and rooster fish can be found here as well as a number of smaller species mentioned earlier.
TWENTY MINUTE ROCK
Depth 40 TO 50 ft. AV. VISIBILITY 50 ft.
This site is an interesting mix of coral and volcanic rock. Also, its marine fauna contains a great quantity and variety of tropical reef fish as well as other moving species like tuna, rooster fish, amber jacks and a wide variety of others. This site is ideal for nocturnal diving because of the large number of lobsters and octopus that are observed at night.
